Episode 0! It’s coming out on DVD soon with the first episodes so I guess they released more spoiler content. I tagged it as spoilers just in case there were people who don’t want to be spoiled about that episode yet!
Finding Paradise-inspired MakoHaru AU
Yesterday I played Finding Paradise and I couldn’t stop thinking about this AU idea so I’m going to share it here. Despite not really following the plot of Finding Paradise, it does contain major spoilers for it so if you haven’t watch/played the game yet, then reading this could ruin your experience (and the game is amazing so I highly recommend playing it (and its prequel To The Moon) first.)
Rei and Nagisa work for a company that makes dying people’s lifelong wish come true, but only in their mind. They do this with a machine that generates false memories that flash before someone’s eyes right before they die as if they were the real memories of their lifetime.
They’re assigned to a rather peculiar client; Nanase Haruka. He has no immediate family nor friends around his death bed, just a doctor They find this a little strange since most people are surrounded by loved ones when they die, but don’t really think about it any further. What is even stranger though, is Haruka’s last wish. Unlike most wishes, Haruka’s wish is very vague: “To have lived a happy life.”
It doesn’t have a further elaboration than that, so when they go to Haruka’s most recent memory, they ask him to explain what he means with that, what he defines “happiness” with. But oddly enough, Haruka doesn’t elaborate futher and just says that he means what he said. A happy life, that’s all he wants. Almost as if he knows that Rei and Nagisa will eventually find out what that means to him. Knowing that they don’t have much time left, Rei and Nagisa decide not to continue arguing with him and just start to go through his memories to figure it out for themselves.

NO SPOILERS OH MY GOD. But I was already expecting something like that. I mean, obviously they’re not going to end up in a relationship or something like that since Satoru is 29, but just because it’s an AU doesn’t mean that everything needs to be the same. Just, same setting and such. Like, Makoto trying desperately to avoid Haru’s death, I don’t know.
But either way, I always dissapoint myself because I always think about the most painful of AUs.
With only a little more to go until season 3 starts I wanted to say that I will be reblogging spoilers, but I’ll tag them with #spoilers and #free! spoilers so you can blacklist those tags if you want to avoid seeing them from me!
Can’t wait to experience this new season with all of you! ^^

Summary: Unlike most people, Haruka wasn’t very eager to meet his soulmate. Half of the reason was his inexplicable infatuation with a stranger he saw on the train every morning, the other half was the words that were imprinted on his skin; the first words his soulmate would say to him. They were… ominous.
When Haruka’s absent-mindedness got him into trouble, he had to deal with the unforeseen - but not at all unpleasant - consequences. Or, how getting involved in a car accident became the best thing that ever happened to Haruka.

Chapter 18: Dolphin and Orca
An odd scent roused Haruka from his slumber. Through hazy eyes, he looked around himself, making out the big bed beneath him and the curtains of his parents’ room. That was right, he fell asleep here last night, next to Makoto. But now, Makoto was gone.
With a frown, Haruka pushed himself upright and scanned the whole room for any sign of him, but he wasn’t here. The door was left open ever so slightly, so he must’ve gotten up before Haruka for once. How strange.
What was also strange was that the odd scent was growing stronger. As if on cue, a loud banging followed by a shrill beeping sound reverberated through the room and instantly activated Haruka’s brain. The fire alarm. Makoto.
